The Diversity Champions network was initiated by Big

Society Capital, and is open to all individuals in the social

investment sector.

SIFIs (Social Investment Finance Intermediaries) can nominate an individual with demonstrated commitment and passion for championing diversity within their organizations for the Diversity Champions network.

The Diversity Champions network conducted their first meeting in August 2017, and the peer-support network has been instrumental in helping each other champion this long but essential journey for diversity.

The Champions will also play a crucial role in collecting data relating to diversity within their organizations and from invests, and sharing the data with the Diversity Champions network to support each other’s work.

This group meets every quarter for a 3-hour session facilitated by Social Investment Business. Topics featured in the sessions will include recruitment, training, culture, and best practices. It aims to recognize that how we recruit, retain, and promote people is core to improving our inclusivity and diversity.

There are currently 30 members in this network, representing a broad range of the social investment sector, including Unity Trust Bank, City Bridge Trust, Social Finance, Northstar Ventures, Mustard Seed, Government Inclusive Economy Unit, ClearlySo, Young Foundation, The FSE Group, Resonance, Fair Banking, Social Investment Scotland, Pure Leapfrog, and LGT Impact.
